Let Change, Passion and Purpose Redefine Your Life

I have had an incredible two days! There is something special... TRULY special about being surrounded by a room filled with motivated, hopeful, driven, passionate people who have a common goal of helping and serving others; who have a solid mission to build people up and develop them into the best they can be. Unless you have experienced this for yourself, it is quite difficult to explain the euphoria that happens, the tornado of change and self improvement that engulfs the room. I am going to attempt through words, to paint a picture of what this is like for you because I think that EVERYONE needs to know how this feels, that everyone needs this in a world that focuses everything on the negative. My hope is that through it, you can catch a glimmer of hope, hope for a second chance, a new beginning, a change in your reality that only YOU can manifest and create.

As you read, I want you to open your mind wide and allow yourself to imagine what I am describing, absorb it, allow it to surround you like a warm, fuzzy blanket if only for a moment, I want you to feel safe and protected and know that everything is going to be okay no matter what you are facing in life right now. Okay, so here it goes....

Imagine yourself walking into a room filled with people in an environment that you have never been in before, some of  the people you know but most whose path you have never crossed. You are scared, a bit intimidated even, but you are there anyway. As you walk by each row of chairs and make eye contact with others, people smile at you and say hello, several shake your hand or give you a high five just for showing up. As each person smiles you begin to "feel" the energy in the room and begin to think that although you are not quite sure what you have walked into.... it feels pretty god and is certainly a far cry from what you are used to 90% of the time. You take your seat and prepare for the day... a day that you have been told will be filled with motivating, inspirational leaders telling YOU how to WIN for you and your family in this crazy game of life.

You quickly notice that this is different than any social event you have ever attended and realize that the people speaking are not people that are hired to speak and "fluff" something up for you, they are TRUE leaders, true educators, comrades that have DONE what they are asking you to do, they have put in the time, gone through the hardships, made the mistakes and tell you everything you DON'T want to hear so that you can truly grow into the best you. It gets a little uncomfortable at times when you feel like they are talking directly to you, in fact you get a bit squirmy and have a feeling of nausea in your gut, but for some crazy reason you know that it is a good thing to feel this way.

As the day goes on, it is time for recognition... your name gets called out and as you stand and walk to the front the entire room stands to cheer for you, hands blanket the isle as you walk the path to the front. You are surprised that you are being celebrated by people you know, but by complete strangers? You get to the front and are given the chance to talk about why you are here, why you are being awarded and are asked to share what you do to achieve these goals and what advice you can offer for those who want to accomplish what you have. YOU... someone who when you walked into this room felt intimidated and scared are being called courageous. You give your 2 minute speech and return to your seat....

How do you feel right now? Read it again if you feel nothing and OPEN YOUR MIND so that you can feel the moments that I have described. Are you recognized and celebrated for all your hard work and then some? Would you like to be? Have you ever been given the chance to tell your story? Would you like a chance to talk about your struggles and how you pushed on? Well... I can introduce you to an environment that will give all of this to you... it's all of that and more. It is an environment that will build you, make you strong and ultimately make you free of all worry if you make the choice to accept the challenge. I know... it sounds nuts, and that is because it is so far from what most of you live every single day. I will tell you this... feeling great and being called nuts feels way better than being stressed, wouldn't you agree?

If you stay where you are... if you keep doing what you have been doing, will it lead you to the life that you want? Will you be able to do all that you hope to do for your children, for your spouse, your mom, dad? If not... then I encourage you to make a change. Sure, it is uncomfortable... but so is childbirth yet it yields the most amazing miracle known to humanity. You MUST get uncomfortable to experience greatness, to become all that our Creator wants us to be. So suck it up and be uncomfortable will ya?

Take the challenge, let change, passion and purpose ring in your life, your heart and in your mind. You become who you hang around, so ask yourself... who are you surrounded by? To quote one of the leaders who spoke today....

"The mind is a parachute... it only works when it is open.  Assad Faraj

Success is not going to find you, it is not going to attack you... you will NEVER read in the paper or hear on CNN that success just tackled someone to the ground and beat them up. So why not Ddesign, architect and fall in love with your goals and dreams and pursue that dream life." Ed Ortiz

If you want to succeed, you have to open your mind to new things, new concepts and change what is not working. Simple as that. Now... what are you going to do to change your situation? If you want to know where to start email me. I will be happy to help you with your journey to a better life... it's what I do. I am in the business of developing people into all that they can be and it won't cost you a single penny.

 xoxo

Embracing the Winds of Change

"There comes a time in many situations when you have to ask yourself... Is this really for me? Have I had or endured enough? Am I ready for something more, something different? Or perhaps you just need to take a moment to be silent and alone in order to think straight in order to be happy with what is going on. These are the moments when change happens, it is moments like this when we reflect on the things that are going on in our lives that our future truly unfolds. The most important thing in these moments is to be REAL with ourselves... to be honest and get in check; no excuses, no judgments, just absolute positive change for the better."
©Shelley Giard

So this is how it starts... a random thought that crosses my mind when I am quiet enough to listen for a moment in this crazy, busy life that I lead and so I write it down; a blog post is born. It is no secret to me why this thought is running through my head, it is actually not random at all. In fact as this year quickly reaches it's demise, I am both anxious and nervous in what the new year has to bring. The winds of dramatic change are in my very near future and although I am terribly excited, it is honestly a bit unnerving; (Just ask my trapezius muscles who are screaming as the tension builds.) I should be used to change... for it has been the only constant in my life for many years; but oh how I wish to just sit still for some time and just be... my time will come.

I have learned to embrace the moments when I sense a shift because it is when the most miraculous things have happened in my life, it is when growth has become the inevitable and that thought is always in the forefront of my mind. I am not scared, nor fearful or rebellious, but accepting, mindful and know that with change often comes a promise of bigger, better things. THAT makes it worth the growing pains and learning curves that are also part of the process.

Are you experiencing change? Do you feel a shift in your life or are you stuck right where you are due to fear or uncertainty? I know, it is easy to hang out in comfort... it's warm and cozy and familiar, but when you KNOW that things are evolving DON'T stifle it... latch on and run in the direction of freedom and leave behind whatever it is that holds you back. I promise the only regret you will ever have is not taking that leap of faith... I remind myself of this all of the time when I question that little voice inside my head that says "Just GO, and don't ever look back."

This blog isn't that "Christmassy", or maybe to you it is. Maybe all you want for Christmas is for things to change... for circumstances to be different and well in that case, here is your chance to open up this great big gift of CHANGE, it's got your name on it and a big giant bow that you can stick to your head afterwards. (that's what I do) Inside is just the hope you need to carry on and accept what is ahead of you. I know for me the moments that I held my breath also led to the very moments that took it away.

The Struggles Within Yourself

Today is a "pour it all out" kind of day. I plan to bare the bones of how I am feeling right this very second with complete and utter transparency. With this, I hold no shame because I am human, and although I have chosen a platform of being inspirational and motivational to others, I am not immune to having struggles of my own; in fact the struggles that I have had and continue to have are what allow me to come to you with words of advice from my own stories of overcoming, and well... that is what makes me real and no different from you. What may make me different than you perhaps, is how openly I share my struggles with the world; which is a choice and it is because of that choice to spill my guts that I have been able to help many people who need a boost or who simply needed to know that they were not alone in feeling how they are feeling. Hearing what this has done for people has truly presented some the greatest moments in my career proving to me that teaching, writing, sharing and inspiring others is the path I am supposed to be on. What I am finding difficult is figuring out how to do this in a much bigger way. and that is where I feel STUCK.

If you follow my blog, you know that many good things have been happening in my life lately, especially in the way of my career. For that, I am thankful; however I am also feeling a bit scattered right now and am struggling to find focus. For years, I have planted seeds... in different gardens of talent although I find they are still somewhat connected. My hope was to prosper and find a direct connect with one of those talents more than the other at some point and be relentless at becoming the BEST at it. What I did not expect was for all of those gardens to flourish at once forcing me to make a decision on which path to take. Since that is exactly what is happening I am finding myself at a crossroad... I am feeling that I have the hardest decision that I have EVER had to make ahead of me right now and I must admit that this is making me nervous. When I was 20... I took leaps of faith with a blindfold on; no qualms about it, but as I am a month away from my 40th birthday I am feeling a bit more adult and somewhat intimidated by such an important decision. (I will probably chalk this up to a midlife crisis or hormonal breakdown and laugh at myself later on.)

If there is one thing that I have learned about myself it is that I can get ANYTHING done that I set my mind to. What I have also learned is that in order to get the BEST results, I must set my mind to only one thing at a time. Scrambling is great for making eggs but breakfast is not what I have on my plate. I must be careful not to overload myself being that I have the constant job of being a parent,  which is by far the most challenging career that I manage. SO >>>>>  as I am faced with some serious career decision making, planning and executing I ask that all of you put good vibes out for me... send some prayers up... and do whatever it is you do to help those that mean something to you... I am going to need the support from my friends and fans to make this shift.

I hope that you have an amazing Tuesday... Wednesday... Thursday and beyond. If you are struggling within yourself right now, do some soul searching. Make some lists of what you need to do and what you want to do. Write down your goals and devise a plan to reach them. Until you write it down, you can't FEEL it, you cannot ENVISION it nor can you BELIEVE in it. The key to reaching your goals is to commit to doing whatever it takes, and more often than not you will be tossed WAY outside your comfort zone in order to make your dreams a reality. As I spend the next few weeks planning and deciding... I expect to be scared, I expect to be anxious and I expect to be emotional... luckily I have been there before and know that in the end it will more than likely be worth it.
